Snowman Craft Idea

Looking for an easy winter craft? This snowman craft idea is perfect for toddlers (and preschoolers and elementary kids too)! It’s an easy craft that’s not too messy, and just right to make together on those cold winter days. Plus, it’s made from regular household items, making it a practically free craft! Who doesn’t love an art project that’s easy on the budget too!?! It’s the ideal “snow-day” craft… unless, of course, your child is still in the “likes to eat cotton ball” phase!

Look below for a materials list and easy step-by-step instructions with pictures.

Snowman Craft Idea Materials List:

– Construction paper: Blue, Black & Orange

– Non-Toxic Glue

– Cotton Balls

– Brown Paint & Paintbrush

– Scissors (For Adult Use)

How To Make This Easy Snowman Craft Idea:

First, take the glue and squirt it on the blue construction paper in a snowman shape, making sure to put enough glue that it will be able to hold the cotton balls. An older child may be able to do this step alone, but with toddlers (and even preschoolers) this part should be done by an adult!

Next… the fun part! Let your toddler (or preschooler or other aged child) place the cotton balls all along the glue snowman shape. Don’t worry if cotton balls are put on other parts of the paper because they won’t stick. This winter craft can’t be easily messed up and looks great even if the cotton balls are not all facing the same direction!

Take the brown paint and the paintbrush and add a few twig arms for the snowman!

Finally, take the black and orange construction paper and cut a few accessories to add to your snowman craft: a black hat and coal eyes, and an orange carrot nose!
